Conquest of Elegance was launched at the 5th of December in 2005.
It started off as a Dutch website with free graphics, downloads and tutorials aimed at (young) webdesigners. I made it in Dutch because, at that time, there weren't many Dutch tutorial sites.
I always wanted to make my site in English aswell, but couldn't get myself to do it because I had way too much of content to translate.
After almost a year of inactivity, I changed hosts and relaunched Conquest of Elegance, now just in English. (5th of November 2008.)

The main reason I started Conquest of Elegance was because I got alot of questions from other starting webdesigners. "Could you explain how you made that?", "Could you make something like that for me aswell?", and so on. I decided to make a website answering these questions. I love helping out others, and it's great to be able to refer questions back to the site - no fun in answering the same things over and over. I like it when people use my graphics/downloads (and credit ;)), and I like it even more when visitors learn from my tutorials and are able to make new things on their own. This is why conquestofelegance.com exists.
